Easter is on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Several organizations in the Lynchburg community are offering free Easter egg hunts throughout March. Just remember to bring your own baskets for hunting eggs – and a camera to capture those little smiles! Here are the details for 7 local Easter egg hunts:


1.) Easter Eggstravaganza

Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Saturday, March 19, 2016, 1-2:30 pm

Where: Forest Public Library, 15583 Forest Road, Forest, VA

Other details: Community Easter Eggstravaganza at Forest Library, sponsored by Mountain View United Methodist Church. Play games, meet people, have fun and join in our awesome egg hunt. Games & Crafts: 1pm-1:45pm. Easter Egg Hunt: 1:45pm – 2:30pm. RSVP here.



2.) Easter Egg Hunt & Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Timberlake United Methodist Church

When: Saturday, March 19, 2016, 10 am

Where: Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA

Other details: Come to a FREE event! Breakfast and photos with the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt. Hunt begins at 10:30 AM. There will be games, crafts, food and many fun activities! Ages birth – 5th grade. RSVP here.



3.) Cornerstone Easter Egg Hunt

When: Sunday, March 20, 2016, 2-4 pm

Where: 411 Cornerstone Street , Lynchburg, VA

4.) Easter Egg Hunt on the Lawn at Point of Honor

Point of Honor

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016, 10am-1pm

Where: Point of Honor, 112 Cabell Street, Lynchburg, VA

Other details: Join us for a FREE fun-filled day at the Point of Honor for the third annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Lawn! Visit and grab a photo with the Easter Bunny, sit for story-time with our local celebrities, hang out at the petting zoo, or pick up lunch from one of the local food trucks on site – Maylynn’s Creamery, Smoke Ring BBQ, or Cheesy Rider Food Truck. Did we also mention we’re hiding 6,000 eggs for our hunt? No matter your age, we promise fun for the entire family!

For your younger bunnies, there will be face painting, spring crafts, a jump castle, and traditional games like egg rolling races, cornhole, hopscotch, rolling hoops, and sack races to entertain.

11:15 – (3 & 4 year old) Egg Hunt

5.) Easter Egg Hunt

Leesville Road

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016, 10 am

Where: Leesville Road Baptist Church, 18059 Leesville Road, Evington, VA

Other details: Great fun and prizes for kids ages 12 and under. Event will include drinks, snacks and other fun activities including one “golden” egg to be found for each age group. Come and have fun rain or shine! RSVP here.



6.) Children’s Easter Egg Hunt

Inglewood Baptist Church

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016, 1-3 pm

Where: Inglewood Baptist Church, 4830 Old Boonsboro Road, Lynchburg, VA

Other details: Meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy face painting, the egg hunt, candy and prizes, ice cream, and sack races for the older kids. RSVP by calling (434) 385-8900.



7.) The Great Hunt

The Great Hunt

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016, 1-3 pm

Where: Madison Heights Dixie Youth Complex, 257 Trojan Rd, Madison Heights, VA

Other details: The Great Hunt is a wonderfully fun and safe event for the families of Central Virginia. With over 50,000 Candy filled eggs, bounce houses, games, and tons of vendors giving away free stuff, The Great Hunt is the event of 2016! RSVP here.
